Water Baptism
Easter Sunday April 5th | 10 AM
We could not be more excited to celebrate water baptisms as a community together on Easter Sunday! If you are a follower of Jesus and have yet to enter the waters of baptism, we encourage you to take that step as the Scripture teaches us to.
Water Baptism:
What is baptism and why? The most simple reason for why, is that Jesus himself has commanded His followers to get baptized and He Himself was baptized. We desire to joyfully follow unto Him. The what, is almost just as simple -- we like to say its an "outward expression" of what Jesus is doing on the inside of you. That He has brought death to life and now baptism is a public marker or confession of that truth.
Who should and who is welcome? Anyone who declares that Jesus is Lord of their life is welcome and should get baptized. It's not the last step on our journey with Jesus, baptism is one of the first. We'd also encourage you if you were baptized at a young age, maybe not on your own desire, but Jesus is now Lord of your life -- get baptized. There is plenty of water and Jesus welcomes you in.
How is it going to look? Baptisms will happen at the end of our Gathering on Sunday right inside the main gathering space of the building. We ask and encourage everyone in church to stay, celebrate and party with us and everyone who is getting baptized.
What should I do or bring if I am getting baptized? We would love to know a bit of your story and ask that you write a little bit of it to share in community before baptisms take place. This could be 1-2 minutes or feel the freedom to expand as much as you’d like. It is a simple way to testify and share testimony of what Jesus has done in you. We ask that you wear a darker shirt and we would encourage you to wear darker pants or shorts and bring a change of clothes. We’ve got the towels covered. At the end of the Gathering we will invite you to come up, share briefly and then we will pray and let the baptism party begin.
Do I need to sign up or do anything? Yes. You can sign up via this form as it helps us best prepare to serve you.
